This video exemplifies the good that the money donated by the RGVMF does for the music programs of the various schools in the valley

Welcome to the Rio Grande Valley Music Festival Website

The Rio Grande Valley Music Festival is a non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to three goals. First, to provide a venue for musicians of all levels of ability to perform in a professional setting. To that end we provide a "jamming tent" where players can gather in small groups and jam in an unstructured manner. The stages
have scheduled performances. These are mainly working professionals who have other commitments and are generously donating their time for the festival. Open mic time is  available on all stages. Open mic performers sign up with the Stage Manager for ten minute segments. The Acoustic/Bluegrass Stage is mostly open and uses a rotation system.
Secondly, the RGVMF provides an opportunity for Valley residents and visitors to enjoy good, live music for a very reasonable price. The admission is unchanged for 2012 at $8 per person with NO charge for parking. Music fans under 12 come in free. The Sunday Gospel jam is also free. As before, weekly tickets will be available for $25.
Last, but not the least important, is to help support music education for young people. To that end all proceeds over expenses are donated to local youth music programs. $20,000 has been made available from the 2011 festival.
We hope you find this website useful. If you would like more information, or have comments, feel free to call us at 956 373-0130, or email us as shown in the "contact us" page. We look forward to seeing you at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show grounds in Mercedes, Texas, February 14-19, 2012 for the 8th annual event.

The  Rio  Grande Valley  Music Festival is  a non-profit organization. All funds raised in excess of expenses are  used to  support music education for  young people in the  Valley.  All the  staff are  volunteers, and all the musicians generously donate their  time.  Many  of the  musicians are professionals who  perform at  various venues throughout the  Valley.  We urge you  to  support them and let  them know  their  efforts are
apprec
iated.

. “I want to thank you on behalf of our school and the mariachi program for your donation last year. The donation has really benefited our program to continue exposing our students to different events and competitions. It has also brought excitement and motivation to the students because they see that their efforts are noticed throughout the region. This year we have been working very hard and the mariachi is doing an excellent job! Thanks again for your contribution to our program, we truly are grateful. I will keep you posted of any other upcoming competitions and events. We really look forward in seeing you soon“. Musically yours, Mr. Eloy Garza, Rio Grande City
